Types of Urology Services and Procedures at JACE Private Clinic
Flexible Cystoscopy
A minimally invasive investigation that uses a thin camera to examine the bladder and urethra. This is commonly used to explore:
Blood in the urine (haematuria)
Recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Ongoing urinary symptoms
Possible bladder abnormalities
The procedure is typically performed under local anaesthetic and takes around 10 minutes. Most patients return home shortly after the procedure.
Circumcision
Circumcision involves the surgical removal of the foreskin. It may be recommended for:
Tight foreskin (phimosis)
Recurrent infections or inflammation
Cosmetic, personal or cultural reasons
This is carried out as a day case under local or general anaesthetic, with dissolvable stitches and full aftercare provided.
Hydrocele Repair
Hydroceles are fluid-filled swellings around the testicle that can become uncomfortable or unsightly. Surgical repair is a straightforward procedure performed under local or general anaesthetic, usually lasting under an hour. Most patients resume normal activity within 1–2 weeks.
Vasectomy
A safe and permanent method of male contraception. Vasectomy is a minor procedure that seals the tubes (vas deferens) that carry sperm. It’s performed under local anaesthetic and typically takes less than 30 minutes.
Patients will require follow-up semen analysis to confirm successful sterility.
