Do the totals include the consultation?

Yes. Each total is the consultation fee plus the amount paid on the day of your procedure, and both parts are shown under the total.

Are there any extra costs?

Biopsies taken during endoscopy are billed separately, and a general anaesthetic for colonoscopy or haemorrhoid banding is an additional £200. Your consultant will tell you if anything else applies before you go ahead.

Why do some prices say “from”?

Some procedures depend on what you need. Hernia repair, for example, varies with the type of hernia. Your consultant confirms the exact price at your consultation.

Can I use my health insurance?

Yes. Insured patients use the same booking route. Check your cover with your insurer first and, where they require it, get an authorisation number before your appointment.

Is the vein assessment fee taken off treatment?

For some patients, Mr Mzimba deducts the cost of the assessment from the first procedure. He will let you know if this applies to you.

2Agree your plan. If you need a procedure, your consultant explains which one and confirms its price before anything is booked.
3Procedure day. You pay the balance on the day. The totals on this page already include your consultation, so there are no surprises.
