Who It's For

When endoscopy may be the right next step

This pathway is designed for patients who need faster investigation, direct specialist assessment, and clearer answers.

Upper GI symptoms

Useful for reflux, swallowing difficulty, nausea, indigestion, and upper abdominal symptoms.

Lower bowel symptoms

Appropriate when there is rectal bleeding, change in bowel habit, or persistent lower GI concerns.

Unexplained findings

Consultant review for anaemia, unexplained weight loss, or symptoms needing further investigation.

Clear next-step planning

Helpful when you need to move quickly from symptoms to diagnosis, procedure planning, and follow-up.

Access & Pricing

Fast-track assessment

Private endoscopy works best when you understand both the route in and the likely cost before proceeding.

Consultant assessment is £250, with endoscopy procedure pricing explained separately where appropriate.

Procedure pricing and likely next steps are explained before treatment is arranged.

Self-funded and insured patients can use the same front-door pathway.

Our team will review your enquiry the same working day and guide you to the right consultant.

Procedures

Procedures with clear pricing guidance

These are the main endoscopy investigations available on this pathway. If a consultant feels one of these is the right next step, your likely route and pricing will be explained before treatment is arranged.

Discuss The Right Investigation

01

OGD / Gastroscopy

£1220

A thin, flexible tube with a camera is passed through the mouth to examine the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum. Used to investigate symptoms such as indigestion, nausea and difficulty swallowing.

02

Colonoscopy

£2219

A comprehensive examination of the large bowel and rectum using a flexible camera. The gold standard for detecting polyps, inflammation and early signs of colorectal cancer.

03

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

£1220

Examines the lower part of the large bowel (sigmoid colon). A shorter, quicker procedure than a full colonoscopy, used to investigate rectal bleeding and changes in bowel habit.
