Before You Attend
The main reasons patients may need to call first
The priority is to avoid unnecessary risk to other patients and staff. If you have symptoms, recent exposure, or concerns about whether you should attend, please contact us before travelling.
Do not attend if you are unwell with possible infectious symptoms.
Call first if you think your appointment may need to be rearranged.
Use official public health guidance if you need the latest wider advice.
Confirmed COVID-19 or symptoms
Do not attend the hospital if you have confirmed COVID-19 or symptoms of infection. Please contact us so your appointment can be reviewed or rearranged safely.
Vomiting or diarrhoea
Please do not attend if you are experiencing vomiting or diarrhoea. Contact the hospital and we will advise the right next step.
Close contact
If you have recently been in close contact with someone with COVID-19, let the team know before your appointment so the safest route can be agreed.
Higher risk groups
If you are over 70, pregnant, immunocompromised, or have a long-term condition, check current health advice before attending if you have concerns.
Practical guidance when visiting the hospital
Use hand sanitiser when entering and leaving the hospital.
Maintain good respiratory hygiene and cover coughs or sneezes.
Wash hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water where needed.
Minimise unnecessary sharing of items during your visit.
Let us know if you develop symptoms within 10 days after attending.
